Week 4 Picks

So I went 8-8 on the picks last week. I wasn't wrong more than I was right, so I'll take it.

Denver (+6.5) @ Tennessee
Tennessee bounced back from their loss to the Steelers with a big win over the Giants. Chris Johnson got back on track with a nice game and Vince Young played effectively and avoided getting benched, which is a good thing since we don't want him falling into another state of depression. Despite Kyle Orton throwing for over 400 yards last week, the Broncos have been struggling. Now, they have to go to Tennessee, which is a tough place to play, and face a team led by a coach that looks like this....
I mean with those badass shades and a grey beard that says "don't mess with me" how can the team not play well. I'll take the Titans to cover.

Baltimore (+1.5) @ Pittsburgh
No Big Ben? No problem for the Steelers as old Chuch Batch stood up out of his wheelchair and threw 3 TDs last week. The Steelers D also got Bucs QB Josh Freeman benched at the end of last week's game, which marks the 2nd straight week they have gotten the starting QB benched. Ray Lewis said he and Ben have been texting all week. Usually when a guy who stabbed and murdered someone is communicating this much with a guy who's committed multiple rapes it's about an escape plan. Hopefully for the Ravens, they weren't making plans to go out the night before the game because they could both end up in jail for a number of reasons. As for the game, Ray Rice is banged up and might not play, and Joe Flacco is 1-4 vs the Steelers with 4 TDs and 6 INTs. I'll pick the Steelers and their D again.

Cincinnati (-3) @ Cleveland
Cleveland stayed close to the Ravens for most of the game before losing last week, although that might say more about Baltimore ineptitude on offense then the Browns' level of play. Peyton Hillis actually ran for 144 yards against the Ravens. But, the Browns still haven't won a game. The Bengals have a 2-1 record, but have looked incredibly shaky. Carson Palmer has as many INTs and TDs, and has actually had several INTs dropped. Cincinnati ranks in the bottom half of the league in rushing and passing. In an unrelated story, Chad OchoCinco's cereal brand "OchocincO's" recalled all of their cereal because a telephone number on the cereal box that was supposed to be for a charity was misprinted and actually was for a phone-sex line. Seriously. In an upset pick, I'll take the Browns and the points.

Detriot (+14.5) @ Green Bay
The Packers are much better than the Lions, so this one comes down to the points. Can Green Bay win by more than 2 Tds? I say yes. Their loss last week came against a good Bears team on the road on a Monday night. That's tough for anyone. Now, they're back at home against the Lions. For Detroit, playing on the road is a bad thing. The Lions have lost 22 straight road games. You read that correct. They haven't won a road game since 2007. I'll take the Packers to cover the spread.

Carolina (-14.5) @ New Orleans
The Saints lost their 1st game last week, and overall have looked less than impressive so far this year. However, Carolina is really bad. The Panthers rank 28th in passing offense and 19th in rushing offense. They are also the only team so far this season that made Eli Manning look like a legitimate NFL quarterback when he torched them for almost 300 yards in Week 1. Another problem for Carolina this week is that they have to go to New Orleans. Not only is the SuperDome a tough place to play, but letting Jimmy Clausen close to Bourbon Street might result in something like this, which won't be good for anybody. I think the Saints bounce back big.

San Francisco (-7) @ Atlanta
The ship in San Francisco is sinking quick. They're off to an 0-3 start. They fired their offensive coordinator after 3 games. They've scored fewer points than anyone other than Carolina. Now they have to fly across the country to face the Falcons. Since an opening week loss to the Steelers, Atlanta has blown out the Cardinals and knocked off the champion Saints. The Falcons
will cover the 7 points.

Seattle (-1) @ St. Louis
The Rams are coming off their 1st win, and Sam Bradford has looked like a keeper. Seattle has looked like playoff contenders at home, but got blown out in their only game on the road. I'm not totally sold on Pete Carroll and the Seahawks. I'll go out on a limb and take the Rams and the points at home.

New York Jets (-5.5) @ Buffalo
The Jets won their 2nd straight division game by beating the Dolphins last week. After getting pulled over a few days before the game with a blood-alcohol content level over twice the legal limit, Braylon Edwards was punished by the Jets by missing the 1st quarter, or roughly 15 offensive plays. Well I guess they showed him. Even Joe Namath, the Hall of Fame Jets QB who provided us with the most memorable drunken Monday Night Football speech ever, was disappointed. Despite all the drama surrounding the team, the Jets have been good. The Bills on the otherhand, well they've been bad. Really bad. Here's an example of the state of disarray the Bills are in. Trent Edwards "won" the quarterback competition in training camp and opened the year as the Bills starting quarterback. This week the Bills cut Trent Edwards. When you're cutting you're starting QB after 3 games, you might be in for a long season. Take the Jets.

Indianapolis (-7) @ Jacksonville
Jacksonville has been really bad. Their best player, running back Maurice Jones-Drew, hasn't had a run longer than 18 yards all season and has yet to score a touchdown. QB David Garrard has been so bad that the team just signed the recently cut Trent Edwards. Meanwhile, the Colts are coming off 2 straight double-digit wins. Even last week without Pierre Garcon and a half-speed Reggie Wayne at wideout, Peyton Manning threw for 300 yards and 3 TDs. Austin Collie busted out with 171 yards and 2 TDs. He's moving into the starting 5 for white receivers of the last 20 years joining Wayne Cherbet, "Easy" Ed McCaffrey, Wes Welker, and Ricky Proehl. On a side note, how fitting is it that the best white receivers of the last 20 years have names like Wayne, Ed, and Wes? Those are some white names. Anyway, I'll take the Colts here.

Houston (-3) @ Oakland
Houston just suffered their first loss. Luckily, they get to play the Raiders this week. Oakland hasn't looked very good. They lost a heartbreaker to the Cardinals last week when kicker Sebastian Janikowski missed his 3rd field goal of the day as time expired. The loss was especially bad because the one area where they thought they were set cost them the game. Janikowski has been a good kicker for a long time, but he pretty much lost the game for them last week. I don't want to say he was distracted, but it's possible that Janikowski was more concerned with the post-game buffet than that last kick. I mean, I bet if his coaches promised him a Big Mac he would've nailed that kick. Go with the Texans.
Look at that belly jiggle.
Arizona (+8.5) @ San Diego
Weird matchup here. Arizona hasn't looked good, mostly because their best QB is on "Dancing with the Stars" instead of playing football, but somehow they're 2-1. The Chargers have all the talent they need and one of the top QBs in the league, yet they sit at 1-2. Whatever, I'll take the Cards and the points.
Washington (-6) @ Philadelphia
There'll be a lot of attention on this one. Donovan McNabb returns to Philly where he took the team to the playoffs 8 times, the NFC Championship 4 times, and a Super Bowl. Philly fans will boo him. They're all excited about Michael Vick now, and Vick has been on fire. He's throwing lasers around the field, making plays with his feet, and winning games. He looks a lot like....well, Donovan McNabb. Well except for the fact the he's never gone to a championship game or a Super Bowl. I wonder how long until Philly fans start booing him too. Maybe this week? I'll take the Redskins and the points.
Chicago (-4) @ New York Giants
I'm not sure if Chicago is as good as their 3-0 record suggests, but I think the Giants are as bad or worse as their 1-2 record suggests. Their only win is against Carolina, and they lost their other two games by a combined 43 points. Give me the Bears.
New England (-1) at Miami
Big divisional game here. New England normally doesn't play well in Miami. In fact, the Patriots are 1-7 in their last 8 road games dating back to last year. But, Mark Sanchez had a lot of success throwing the ball against Miami last week, and Tom Brady is better than Mark Sanchez. I'll take New England.
Last Week's Picks - 8-8
Season Picks - 8-8

Week 3 Picks

Titans (+3) at Giants
Two teams in need of a win here. Vince Young looked so bad against the Steelers last week he was benched for Kerry Collins. Yuck. Brother Eli got a beatdown at the hands of Brother Peyton. The only thing missing was Peyton delivering an atomic wedgie at midfield after the game. Now, we have two teams that looked great after week 1 and horrible after week 2. The difference is the Titans struggled against a very good Steelers defense while the Giants struggled against a defense that looked very suspect in getting torched by the Texans in week 1. And to make matters worse, Plaxico Burress was denied work release last week so there will be no jailyard help coming anytime soon. Go with the Titans and the points.

Bills (+14) at Patriots
Let’s not make this too complicated. The Bills are bad. The game is in New England. The Patriots are not in a good mood after their loss to the Jets last week with Tom Brady saying his team “sucked” after the game. He hasn’t been that mad since his last bad hair day. Somebody needs to find Tom a goat to hug. And, after being blown out in two straight games, the Bills have benched Trent Edwards in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Talk about solving a problem with another problem. That’s like fixing your broken leg by breaking your arm so you forget how bad you leg hurts. You’re still going to be a mess, and you still won’t be able to play football. In short, they both suck. Take the Pats to win big.

Browns (-10.5) at Ravens
This one’s a little trickier than it seems. While I have no doubt that the Ravens will win because the Browns are terrible, the spread is a little high. I mean for the Ravens to cover they need to score atleast 11 points, and they’re averaging 9 points a game. All those new toys on offense (Boldin, Houshmandzadeh) and Joe Flacco can’t seem to get his team to score any points. Maybe if he shaved his eyebrow he could see a little better and lead his team to the endzone a few times. However, all the Baltimore offensive ineptitude in the world can’t change the fact that Cleveland is atrocious. Whether Jake Delhomme is back from injury or Seneca Wallace gets another start (or they bring back Bernie Kosar for that matter), the Browns aren’t going to be good. Their 2 starting receivers have combined for 5 catches this year. So I’m banking on the Ravens offense to wake up a little and to atleast beat Cleveland by 11.

Steelers (-2.5) at Buccaneers
Here are two teams that no one predicted would be meeting as undefeated. The Bucs have played tough to surprise everyone with two straight wins. Although their wins have come against two of the worst teams in the league, so all we’ve really learned is that Tampa is atleast only the 3rd worst team in the league. The Steelers have challenged the prevailing theory of modern football that it’s a quarterback’s game because they’ve started 2-0 while getting little-to-nothing from their quarterbacks. They won last week with 21 total yards passing. They don’t even know who’s going to start under center this week, but they don’t seem too worried about it. Nor should they be with the way their defense is playing. They’ve given up 1 touchdown in two games. Troy Polamalu is flying around making plays across the field, their front 7 has stopped two of the best backs in the league already, and James Harrison still looks like he would knock you out and kick your dog if you looked at him funny. That defense forced 7 turnovers against a Titans offense that is much better than the Bucs’. Pick the Steelers to cover and win.

Bengals (-3) at Panthers
The Bengals recovered nicely from their big opening day loss with a win over the Ravens last week. The Panthers followed their big opening day loss with another loss in which they looked equally as atrocious. Now, they’ve turned to backup Jimmy Clausen to right the ship. This ship is in trouble. Luckily for Carolina, the Bengals have not looked overly impressive. Carson Palmer has looked so bad that I think OchoCinco and TO might start another reality show to find the next Bengals quarterback. Not only would I watch this show, I guarantee that they have already had a conversation about this. Actually, I think this is how Tony Romo became the Cowboys’ quarterback. Despite this, Carolina’s lack of talent is making me go with the Bengals on the road. Falcons (+3.5) at Saints
The Saints didn’t look overly impressive in beating the 49ers Monday night. The offense has not been putting on the show it did last year. Losing Reggie Bush to a broken leg isn’t going to help Drew Brees get back on track either. However, the Saints’ defense has looked solid so far, and the game is in New Orleans. And, this offense is too good to not but some big numbers on the scoreboard sometime soon. Maybe this week. I’ll take the Saints.

49ers (-2.5) at Chiefs
San Francisco almost pulled off the big upset over the Saints last week. But like they say, almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. As it is, the 49ers sit at 0-2, and they have to travel to Kansas City to face the surprisingly 2-0 Chiefs. It hasn’t been all pretty, but the Chiefs have found ways to win. Their defense has made some plays, and they have the weapons to make big plays on offense and special teams. Add in the fact that the 49ers have to travel halfway across the country on a short week to play in one of the most hostile home fields in the league, and I’ll take the Kansas City at home with the points.

Lions (-11) at Vikings
The Lions have lost two heartbreakers by a total of 8 points. The Vikings are sitting beside Detroit in the basement after losing to the Dolphins last week. Out of the two, I actually think the Lions are in a better place right now. Rookie Jahvid Best has already shown himself to be an explosive playmaker, we know how good Calvin Johnson can be, and they seem to be playing with a lot of heart in coming from behind in both games so far. Minnesota on the other hand, has some serious issues. Their receiving corps is depleted with injuries, and Brett Favre looks old. I know he’s looked old for years now, but he really looks old now. He looks like he can’t keep up with the game, or stay awake for it for that matter. Seriously, he’s got the same look on his face after games that my grandfather has right before he passes out on the couch after Thanksgiving dinner. Perhaps it wasn’t a good sign that three of his teammates had to fly down to Mississippi and drag him out of his house to play this year. I just don’t see the Vikings having the year they had last year. I’m saying the Lions keep it close and cover.

Cowboys (+3) at Texans
There is trouble in Dallas. Losing a road game at night against a rival like Washington in week 1 can be explained away. But losing to a supposedly mediocre Bears team at home in week 2 cannot. There are a lot of issues for the Cowboys. The offensive line may be one of the worst in the league. They can’t run the ball, and don’t even seem interested in trying. Tony Romo is still better at dating B-list celebrities than he is at playing football. Meanwhile the other Texas team is riding high. They finally beat the Colts then they overcame an early deficit to win a tough road game against the same Redskins who beat the Cowboys in week 1. The Texans have shown they can run and pass with success, and their defense has gone up against two Pro Bowl quarterbacks and won. I’m thinking when everything is said and done the Cowboys will be one of the most disappointing teams of the year. I’ll go with the Texans.

Redskins (-3.5) at Rams
The Skins have looked pretty good. The Rams have looked pretty bad. That’s about it. There’s not much else interesting to say about these two teams. Just pick the Skins.

Eagles (-3.5) at Jaguars
Interesting week in Philly. The Eagles trade future Hall of Famer Donovan McNabb to a division rival because they were convinced Kevin Kolb was going to be the best thing to hit Philly since the cheesesteak. Then Kolb gets hurt after 2 quarters, and Michael Vick is thrown a bone and given a chance to play. Vick looks very good for the past two weeks reminding everyone that he used to be a Pro Bowl quarterback (not to mention the best video game athlete this century thanks to Madden 2004). Monday the Eagles announce Kolb is back to being the starter because he’s healthy. Tuesday the Eagles announce that Vick is the top dog and will be the starter even though Kolb is healthy. I wonder what happened in less than 24 hours. Eagle fans must be happily wagging their tails as they’ve been pushing for Vick since the minute he stepped on the field. Philadelphia people really do have issues. These are the same fans that actually booed Santa Claus during a game, and now they’re going all out cheering for a guy who killed a bunch of dogs. Says a lot. Philadelphia may be one of the 7 circles of hell. Despite the moral ambiguity of Eagles’ fans, the team has been playing pretty well with Vick at the helm, and Jacksonville lost by 25 last week. I’ll go with the Eagles here.

Colts (-5.5) at Broncos
As bad as the Colts looked in week 1, they looked like serious contenders in week 2. Denver also bounced back and looked pretty good at home last week in beating Seattle, but Seattle might be terrible. Also, Champ Bailey is out for this week for the Broncos. Having your best defensive player out in a game against Peyton Manning cannot be a good thing. Throw in all the issues Broncos players are going through this week with a teammate committing suicide, and things aren’t looking good in Denver this week. Take the Colts.

Chargers (-5.5) at Seahawks
The Chargers bounced back from an opening loss with huge win last week. The Seahawks fell back to earth from an opening win with a big loss last week. I think those two trends continue this week. I’m taking San Diego.

Raiders (+4.5) at Cardinals
Perhaps the worst game of the week. The Raiders are actually coming off a win over the lowly Rams. However, they only got this win after benching starting QB Jason Campbell for Bruce Gradkowski, who led the comeback. But if you’re pinning your hopes on a guy named Gradkowski, you’ve got problems. The Cardinals are falling back into their losing ways. If you think about it, Arizona’s lack of success this season is very simple. They’ve been good the last few years because they’ve had an outstanding offense that could score at any time. The reason their offense was so good was because they had a Hall of Fame QB (Kurt Warner) and two All Pro receivers (Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin). But now, Boldin is in Baltimore and Warner is dancing with the stars (although I question the use of the word “stars” when people who haven’t been stars in 20 years –Michael Bolton, Davin Hasselhoff, Florence Henderson – and people with no noticeable talent – Bristol Palin, Audrina from the Hills – are involved but this is all for another discussion altogether). So, two of their three best players are gone, and it shouldn’t be a surprise that the team is suffering. Poor Larry Fitz is like the bread without his peanut butter and jelly. Sure bread is still good, but it’d be a lot more successful with some peanut butter and a little jelly. I don’t know. I’ll just take the Raiders and the points.

Jets (-2) at Dolphins
Maybe the best game of the week. The Dolphins are coming off a big road win over the Vikings while the Jets are coming off a big win over the Pats. Both teams have very good defenses and like to use the running game to set up the offense. The Jets also like to use the running came to run away from the police after games. Last week, a female Mexican reporter accused Jets players of making crude sexual comments to her. Early this week, starting receiver Braylon Edwards was arrested for DWI (and showed up to court with a homeless man's beard). The Jets other starting receiver, Santonio Holmes, is currently serving a league suspension for violating the drug policy. And, head coach Rex Ryan likes to swear a lot on Hard Knocks. Not a likeable bunch. Oh well, I still think they’re better than the Dolphins. Convicts are great football players, just watch The Longest Yard. I’m going with the Jets.

Packers (-3) at Bears
I still think the Packers are one of the best teams in the league. The defense is starting to catch up to Aaron Rodgers and the offense which is going to be bad for other teams. The Bears are 2-0, but one win was against the Lions so that barely counts. Also, Jay Cutler is just due for a 5 INT game. I think Green Bay covers pretty easily.

NFL Breakdown

Before the NFL season starts, every columnist, expert, former player, and website gives their predictions on the season. These people act like they can tell you with absolute certainty who's going to the playoffs, who's going to have a down year, and who's going to win the Super Bowl. Some even have the audacity to predict exact records for every team. This is ridiculous. The NFL changes so much from seasons to season, even from week to week, to try to predict outcomes for the entire season before a single game is played.

This is why I've waited until after week 1 to make my predictions. I've seen everything I need to see in this one week. I can now tell you with relative ease exactly what is going to happen for the rest of the season. Let's go division by division.

AFC North
What Will Happen - The Browns will be the worst team in this division. I know, I know way to start out with a tough one, but I'm going for accuracy here not shock value. So, yes the Browns will be terrible this year. When Jake Delhomme is the answer, you're asking the completely wrong question. Also, we can't forget that the city of Cleveland is undoubtedly cursed. I mean think about it. Clevelanders suffered through Jordan making The Shot, Elway and The Drive, The Fumble, Jose Mesa's World Series collapse for the Tribe, and just this summer their hometown hero dumping them on national TV. That's a lot of sporting disappointments for one city. A Cleveland sports team has not won a championship since 1964. Ouch. Not that I blame God for cursing Cleveland because let's face Cleveland sucks, but really enough is enough. However, the curse is continuing atleast for this NFL season because the Browns are really bad.

What Won't Happen - There won't be a single play this season where a Bengals receiver is actually covered. I really do feel bad for Carson Palmer, and not just because he's a bad quarterback. He will be getting an earful from OchoCinco or TO or both after every play. These two will claim to have been wide open on every play (well except when they both go to the locker room early instead of playing the last play of a half like they did last Sunday). This won't end well. Expect for Ocho and TO's reality shows.

What Might Happen - You might see Big Ben at any hole-in-the-wall bar in the country or frat party on any campus. This guy has issues. I mean isn't he a little old to be underage drinking with college chicks in a shitty bar. Tom Brady-3 Super Bowl rings and a supermodel girlfriend. Tony Romo - 0 Super Bowl Rings and Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood. Ben-2 Super Bowl rings and hotel employees and underage college girls. Something doesn't make sense.

AFC South
What Will Happen - Forget the first game, the Colts will win the division. They always do. I'm not betting against Peyton Manning. The Texans might be the sexy pick, but save yourself too much thinking and just assume the Colts will win. Unless Eli locks Peyton in the closet again. Funny, I always thought Eli was the one struggling to come out of the closet.

What Won't Happen - Matt Schaub won't play all 16 games. This is one of the main reasons I'm not sold on the Texans. Schaub always gets hurt. Last season was the first time he made it through every game, and that's just not going to happen again.

What Might Happen - The Titans might keep using some form of the option. While the option has always been a popular play in high school and college, it's almost never used in the NFL. The reasons are valid: defensive players are too fast, defenses as too smart, and it's too dangerous for quarterbacks. However, if any NFL team ever has been poised to effectively run the option, it's this Titans team. Chris Johnson is a great speed back who can work out of an option and Vince Young may be the only quarterback fast and big enough to run it. The Titans used some shotgun read options and traditional pitch options in the first game. If they continue this, they will have an unstopable rushing attack or VY will end up with a leg like this guy. No in-between.

AFC West
What Will Happen - The Raiders will be much better than last year with Jason Campbell at QB. JaMarcus Russell was a trainwreck (I guess that's what happens when you try to play quarterback in the NFL when you're doped up on cough syrup). Campbell is atleast serviceable, which may be all the Raiders need to be competitive in a bad division. Plus, it looks like Darren McFadden may have finally started to play like everyone thought he would.

What Won't Happen - Denver will not be rewared for their moves to acquire pretty-boy quarterbacks with questionable sexual orientations (Tebow, Brady Quinn). Let's move on.

What Might Happen - Kansas City might be good. Like good enough to make the playoffs. They've been stockpiling young talent. They've put together the Patriot's coaching staff from when they were winning all of their Super Bowls, so I can only assume they're spying on and video taping other teams. And, they have a great home field advantage.
BONUS What Might Happen - We might find out that Raiders owner Al Davis has been dead for 4 years. AFC East
What Will Happen - Tom Brady will have the worst hair in the NFL. I guess when you have a bunch of Super Bowl rings and can go back and forth from a smoking hot actress and a supermodel you can do whatever you want with your hair, but wow is it bad. Here's a side-by-side with Brady and teen sensation Justin Beiber. Feel free to make your own jokes.

What Won't Happen - The Bills won't win 5 games. They are just plain bad. They are below average at just about every position. The Bills and Browns could combine rosters and still struggle to reach 8-8. Actually that's not a bad idea. Buffalo and Cleveland are both cold, miserable cities whose sports teams never win anything. They should join forces for all major sports and try their luck that way.
What Might Happen - The Jets might be bad. I know with all of Rex Ryan's blabbering and Hard Knocks everyone has the Jets penciled into the Super Bowl, but let's not forget that this is a team that went 9-7 last year. Mark Sanchez threw 12 TDs and 20 INTs last year. Then, they got rid of their leading rusher (Thomas Jones) and replaced him with possibly the most washed up back in the league (LT). They brought in a pothead reciever (Santonio Holmes), cut a veteran leader (Alan Faneca), forced their best player into a holdout (Revis), lost their best defensive linemen for the season during the first game (Kris Jenkins), and have ridiculously high expectations while being led by a loud-mouth coach. That's a lot of negatives in a row.

NFC North
What Will Happen - In a division with Brett Favre, Jay Cutler, and #1 overall pick Matt Stafford, Aaron Rodgers will be the best quarterback. By a lot. Rodgers had a great year last year and seems ready to pick up right where he left off. Don't be surprised if he's a serious MVP candidate.

What Won't Happen - The Vikings won't be back in the NFC Championship game. Last year was a perfect storm for the Vikings. No major injuries and Favre played one of the best seasons of his career. This year they've already have injuries to 2 of their top recievers, and don't count on Favre having a second great season in a row at his age. He's luckly he can remember where he left his Wrangler jeans let along play mistake-free football.

What Might Happen - Favre might be the first quarterback in NFL history to need a Hoveround to get from the locker room to the field. I mean seriously have you taken a close look at this guy lately. He's looking really old in that Vikings gear.

NFC South
What Will Happen - The Saints will win this division comfortably. I'm talking locked up by Week 14. The other teams in this division just aren't good, and the Saints are very good.

What Won't Happen - The Falcons won't make the playoffs. This is my bold prediction for the year. Atlanta is getting some hype, but the competition in the NFC is tough. And, I'm making one serious bold prediction. So deal with it.

What Might Happen - Jimmy Clausen might be the Panthers starter by mid-season. Matt Moore is not good, and they spent a high draft pick on Clausen. Also, Jimmy may challenge Tom Brady for the worst hair in the league except in this contest their are no winners. And yes, I know these pictures are old, but he has it in him. That's my point.

NFC West
What Will Happen - This will be the worst division in the league by far. Cardinals without Warner, 49ers, Seahawks, and Rams. All bad teams. Very bad. Bad football all around.

What Won't Happen - No team from this division will make it past the 1st round of the playoffs. Some team has to win the division and make the playoffs, but whoever it is they will lose their 1st playoff game.

What Might Happen - The winner of this division might be 8-8. It's possible. In case you haven't picked up on it, I don't think this division is very good.

NFC East
What Will Happen - The Eagles will absolutely regret trading Donovan McNabb. Even though he led them to multiple NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl, Philly fans never seemed totally sold on McNabb. They trade him to a division rival in order to make Kevin Kolb their QB. Then Kolb gets concussed and all of a sudden Mike Vick looks like their best option. That's not good.

What Won't Happen - The Cowboys definitely won't go to the Super Bowl, and they can forget about winning it. Because they claim to be America's Team and the Super Bowl is being held in Dallas this year, many people are wondering if the Cowboys can be the first team to play in a Super Bowl in thier own stadium. Let me end that wondering: the answer is no. Tony Romo is not good. Wade Phillips is not a good coach. Their offensive line is a mess. Oh, and they choke every year in the playoffs. So, there's that.

What Might Happen - The Redskins might make a run at a division title. Let me explain. The Eagles all of a sudden have QB issues. The Cowboys have all the problems listed above plus the weight of unrealistic expectations. The Giants look formidable but not unbeatable. Now, the Redskins have a proven winner at QB in McNabb. They also finally have a coach in Mike Shanahan who knows how to win. They've quietly had a solid defense for the last few years. And, they have little to no pressure as everyone is focused on the Cowboys, the Eagles' new QBs, and the New York team.

If these predictions end up being mostly right, I'll be sure to remind everyone. If they're mostly wrong, this post will be deleted. Yes, I will do that.
